Do-it-Yourself DIY Wedding Invitations

• Assembly times do not include printing and cutting the overlay, which takes typically 1/2 to 1 hour for all invitations. Print on regular copy paper first and have several people proof before using the overlay sheets.
• Put together a couple of invitations from start to finish, the first few will always take much longer until you are familiar with the process.
• Setup your workspace as an assembly line process: complete a step for all of your invitations before moving on the to next step. If you have help, assign a step (or steps) to to one person. For example one person punches holes or glues all overlays, one person attaches all embellishments, one person addresses, stuffs and seals the envelopes.
• Glue Stick or Glue Dots? The stick is good for repositioning, but needs to dry, you also need to use a generous amount for a secure bond, we use heavily applied strokes covering the entire overlay and a few swipes in the middle of the background card. The dots create an instant bond and cannot be removed without damaging paper, we use two dots per overlay.
