Wedding Essentials magazine featured harvest chic wedding invitations by Formal-Invitations.com. A scarlet red background card was layered with a white printable overlay, then wrapped in a delicate unryu sash with a real skeletonized leaf tucked in. Unryu, which literally means “Cloud Dragon Paper”, also known as rice paper, is made by adding long swirling fibers to a kozo pulp. The design origin comes from illustrations of dragons flying over the clouds, which means to bring a good fortune to persons. Fortunately, these leaf wedding invitations are a reasonable 98¢ each with envelope.

The sweetly scented orange blossom is traditionally associated with good fortune, and was popular in bridal bouquets and head wreaths in Europe during the 18th and 19th century. This vintage print from AllPosters.com depicts a lush California orange grove, which we used to create a color palette using Goldenrod, Olive green and Lime green. The tree wedding invitations were designed using the Lime green background card and vintage clip art printed on a crisp white overlay, fastened together with a sparkling Peridot jewel brad… a sweet deal for only 62¢ each with envelope. You could also dab a little orange watercolor or marker on the oranges for a pop of color, if you are ambitious!
