Slate Blue Wedding Invitations with Birch Lokta Cord $1.02Perfect for a spring wedding, these exquisite French blue wedding invitations were created using the heavyweight Slate background card and white overlay wrapped with a Birch lokta cord ($1.02 from http://www.formal-invitations.com). The overlay was printed with vintage invitation clip art of a lovely bird ($14 for “Floral, Folk and Paisley Designs” book with cd of 417 images from Formal-Invitations.com), which would also look great printed on favor labels, menu cards, place cards and programs.

Lokta is an native shrub in Nepal, harvested by cutting its stem, which regenerates in a few years. The inner bark of lotka is soaked, hammered into pulp then spread into thin sheets and dried by the sun. The Birch white lokta twisted cord contains 50% recycled lokta fibers, the ends are gently unraveled to reveal a beautiful leaf shape.
