Wedding invitations with wildflower petals
This gorgeous print from Allposters.com by Belgian-born artist Pol Ledent uses vibrant washes of color and bold brushstrokes to render the beautiful landscape of southern Belgium. We loved the yellow-orange and blue and created Wildflower wedding invitations featuring this beautiful color combination. The heavyweight, tree-free background card is made from recycled cotton and embedded with real marigold and cornflower petals with bits of grass. A translucent vellum overlay was printed and layered over the card and they were tied together using a sheer chiffon bow. The butterfly is a symbol of hope, beauty, and new life …a perfect motif for a garden wedding. Modern Bride magazine featured an article profiling three bride types created by Simon Doonan, creative director of Barney’s New York. We were inspired by his “gypsy bride” and created a tree-free wedding invitations made from recycled cotton rags embedded with real bits of grass. Inspired by FiftyFlowers.com’s fall selections, we selected up our Marigold and Goldenrod wedding invitations with a sunflower charm. The marigold background card is made from tree-free recycled cotton embedded with real marigold petals and bits of grass. Our petal papers are heavier than most found in specialty paper shops at a hefty 300 gsm (most shop papers are 150-200gsm). We used the translucent vellum overlay to reveal the background card and tied together with a sheer chiffon ribbon…all for only 98¢ each.
