Leaf Imprint Wedding Invitations with Silver MIni Brad 86¢

Leaf Imprint Wedding Invitations with Silver MIni Brad 86¢

For the natural bride, who appreciates unique products made from recycled materials, these gorgeous tree-free wedding invitations were created using the heavyweight Leaf Imprint background card, made from 100% recycled white rags, imprinted using marigosa tree twigs and leaves which were placed between two sheets, then passed through a pressing machine. The pressure on the sheets crushes the leaves, which are then removed, revealing a beautiful imprint. This process requires no chemicals of any kind and the imprint is the color extract of the leaves themselves …natural color in its purest form. A translucent vellum overlay was printed with vintage clip art of two birds ($14 for book and cd of 1268 images from Formal-Invitation.com), and fastened with a mini silver brad to complete. The price for these gorgeous invites was a down-to-earth 86¢ each, with envelope, made from 100% post consumer fibers, also from Formal-Invitations.com. The leaf collection shown in the background was featured in Brides, and would make beautiful favors for a natural wedding theme.

Rich Warm Gold and Copper Wedding Invitations

Rich Warm Gold and Copper Wedding Invitations

We love the natural pine cones and leaf swag with copper and gold accents featured in Traditional Home magazine and used the idea to create Chocolate brown wedding invitations with a snow white overlay, wrapped in a delicate unryu sash with an exquisite copper skeleton leaf tucked in. This rich, warm wedding invitation was a cool 98¢ each with envelope. For a little sparkle, the optional metallic gold crinkle liner was added for an additional 16¢ each, both from Formal-Invitations.com

Thanksgiving wedding invitations with calligraphy

For truly unique and beautiful wedding invitations, skip the computer altogether and hire a calligrapher to create your overlay. We put together gorgeous brown wedding invitations, perfect for a fall or Thanksgiving wedding, using the heavyweight Chocolate brown background card and white overlay fastened together with a shiny gold leaf brad for an amazing 58¢ each, including envelope, from Formal-Invitations.com. To create the overlay, our friend and accomplished calligraphic artist, Gerald Moscato, drew on the paper guides provided by Formal-Invitations.com and the guide was photocopied onto their overlay paper, then cut …easy!

Wedding Essentials magazine featured harvest chic wedding invitations by Formal-Invitations.com. A scarlet red background card was layered with a white printable overlay, then wrapped in a delicate unryu sash with a real skeletonized leaf tucked in. Unryu, which literally means “Cloud Dragon Paper”, also known as rice paper, is made by adding long swirling fibers to a kozo pulp. The design origin comes from illustrations of dragons flying over the clouds, which means to bring a good fortune to persons. Fortunately, these leaf wedding invitations are a reasonable 98¢ each with envelope.

Lake Champlain chocolates from Vermont are unbelieveable good, as I have sampled their truffles many, many times! We thought their autumn themed chocolates with leaf designs would make elegant favors for fall weddings. To compliment this theme, we used for our own Chocolate brown wedding invitations and paired it with shiny gold leaf brad for an incredible 58¢ each including envelope. The Scarlet and metallic Gold background cards shown would also go well with this theme.

Bride’s September/October issue highlighted a pretty collection of favors featuring trees and leaves. We think our rich fall-colored background cards and white overlay fastened with a shiny gold leaf brad would create wedding invitations that continue the theme. Best of all, our do it yourself wedding invitations are extremely affordable and easy to make for only 58¢ each, including envelope. Colors shown are Scarlet red, Chocolate brown, Sunset orange, Goldenrod yellow, and Ivy green.

Wedding invitations using decorative brads are very easy to assemble, just punch a hole in background cards and overlay (we offer a micro hole punch with a longer reach than standard punches for $6 and paper guides for hole location), insert brad and spread tabs in back…simple!

Fall is definitely my favorite season, there is nothing like the beautiful colors and crisp air of autumn. For nature-inspired fall wedding invitations, I used kiwi green as a background card, as it is a little different from the typical fall colors, and wrapped it in a delicate unryu sash embedded with gold threads. A gold skeleton leaf was then tucked in to complete. This do it yourself wedding invitation is only 99¢, including envelope. Gorgeous, unique and easy on your budget!
