The beautiful handmade cards are layered with a translucent vellum overlay consisting of pure cellulose fiber, which is naturally translucent and free of resins and chemical additives, recyclable, biodegradable, elemental chlorine free and FSC-certified. A lokta cord was used to attach the vellum to the petal paper card, providing a beautiful and unique embellishment. Lokta is an native shrub in Nepal, harvested by cutting its stem, which regenerates in a few years. The inner bark of lotka is soaked, hammered into pulp then spread into thin sheets and dried by the sun and hand-rolled into cording.
